Marisa and David’s The Liberty Warehouse wedding in Brooklyn, NYC was filled with joy and positivity that radiated from the beginning to the end.
The day began with the groom, David, getting ready at Hotel Indigo LES, which offered a beautiful penthouse filled with natural light and a stunning view of the city skyline. The groom’s father was there to help him dress up, and I took a couple of candid and staged shots while he was getting ready. Afterwards, David had fun with his groomsmen while I observed, capturing fun in-between moments. The atmosphere was joyous and relaxed, which helped David ease any pre-wedding jitters.
Meanwhile, the bride, Marisa, was getting ready at The Liberty Warehouse, where Rada Jacobs did her makeup and Avi Pinhasov styled her hair. As she prepared for her big day, I had an opportunity to take pictures of the stunning details. Marisa had chosen a beautiful Berta mermaid-style wedding dress that suited her perfectly. The dress was sophisticated and elegant, adorned with delicate pearls.
The wedding day was perfectly planned by Kerry Gittle (AWE by Kerry), ensuring that everything ran on time. Soon it was time for the big reveal to the bridesmaids and the first look with the groom. Despite the morning light rain, it miraculously stopped just in time for us to step outside The Liberty Warehouse to take pictures of the first look. As David saw Marisa in her dress for the first time, he was thrilled, and it was a beautiful and emotional moment that even brought tears to my eyes. Following this, we had a couple’s photo shoot, capturing the happy couple with the iconic backdrop of New York City’s skyline and the Statue of Liberty.
Next up was the Ketubah signing ceremony, a beautiful and intimate Jewish wedding tradition that serves as an important part of the overall wedding ceremony. The Ketubah, a written agreement outlining the couple’s responsibilities to each other, is a central and meaningful part of the Jewish wedding ceremony.
Finally, it was time for the main event – the wedding ceremony itself, which was held at The Liberty Warehouse. Marisa and David exchanged heartfelt vows in front of their loved ones, with live music from a harpist adding a romantic and ethereal touch to the ambiance of the ceremony. As it was a Jewish ceremony, the couple participated in the symbolic breaking of the glass, which signified the fragility of life and the need to cherish every moment of it. And from that moment, they became a married couple – Mr. and Mrs. Selsey
After the ceremony, it was time to celebrate! The reception was a lively and energetic affair, filled with delicious food, dancing, and laughter. The beautiful space was expertly decorated with stunning flowers by One Flower, and the custom invitations designed by AWE by Kerry team added a personal touch to the occasion. The reception was full of key moments, from Marisa and David’s first dance as a married couple, to the traditional blessing of the Challah bread. The toasts from friends and family were very personal and touching, and the father and daughter dance, as well as the mother and son dance, were unforgettable. Cutting the cake was a sweet moment, and the dancing continued throughout the night. One of the highlights of the evening was a mesmerizing fire dance performance by Phoenix Entertainment NYC outside the Liberty Warehouse, which left everyone in awe. The beautiful lighting, provided by Shades of Grey productions, added to the enchanting atmosphere of the celebration. It was truly a night that no one will forget.
