Anastasia and Nicholas had their wedding at the Grand Marquis wedding venue in Old Bridge, New Jersey, and for them, it wasn’t just a pretty location. It was the very place where they first met. Back in October 2021, they were both attending the Hermes Expo, and their booths ended up right next to each other at the Grand Marquis wedding venue. What started as a casual conversation eventually turned into a first date a year later, and a proposal in Arizona at the Grand Canyon. So returning to the Grand Marquis wedding venue for their big day just made perfect sense. It brought their story full circle.

The day itself was a mix of tradition, and that warm kind of joy that comes when two big families come together. The weather in early May wasn’t exactly cooperative. It rained on and off all day. But the Grand Marquis wedding venue has a way of making everything feel grand no matter what’s happening outside. The elegant ballroom, with its classic columns, perfectly reflected their Greek heritage and the timeless look they were going for. The color palette they picked was soft and classic — white, gold, blush tones in the florals, some rose gold details, and candles everywhere. Romantic and elevated, but not overdone.
They started the morning getting ready with their closest family members. Anastasia was at her parents’ house with her mom, dad, brother, and grandma. Niko was at his parents’ place with his siblings and cousins. Everyone was calm, excited, and really present. No wedding party, no chaos. Just the people that mattered most.
The ceremony took place at St. Nicholas, Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church. It was beautiful and traditional and emotional in all the right ways. After that, we headed straight to the Grand Marquis wedding venue for cocktail hour and photos. Since the rain had stopped for just a few minutes after the ceremony, I suggested they do a few portraits with their vintage car right there by the church. That ended up being the only moment the weather allowed, and I’m so glad we jumped on it. By the time we arrived at the Grand Marquis wedding venue, the rain had picked up again and there wouldn’t have been another chance. Those car photos are now some of their favorites.
The reception at the Grand Marquis wedding venue was unforgettable. Greek live music filled the room, and there were endless traditional dances. Guests tossed money over the couple during the kalamatianos and syrtos dances. It’s an old custom that symbolizes abundance and joy and it made the whole room come alive. One of the most beautiful parts of the night was Anastasia’s surprise speech to her mom. She spoke about how moms often stay behind the scenes on wedding days and how much she appreciated everything her mother had done for her. It was honest, and deeply moving. I know that moment will stay with her family forever.
And I have to mention the seating chart. Anastasia designed it herself — a massive handmade wall with little doors for each table. On the outside of every door was a photo from their engagement session, and inside was the guest list for that table. It was so personal and creative. Guests had fun opening their doors and finding their names. It felt like a gift.
They first found me on Instagram. Anastasia told me she decided to reach out after seeing one of my church ceremony galleries. She said the photos felt raw and intimate, with the kind of angles and storytelling she connected with right away. That means everything to me.
From the moment they arrived for cocktail hour to their last dance, the Grand Marquis wedding venue held space for every moment of their celebration. It felt like the only place their story could’ve continued. Every corner of that venue meant something to them, and you could feel that from start to finish.
