Heartfelt Fall Wedding Weekend at Stonewall Estate Catskills Wedding Venue
When Sarah and Matthew planned their fall wedding in the Catskills, they wanted a place where their loved ones could slow down and truly be together for the weekend. A Story Ten Years in the Making
Sarah and Matthew’s story began in high school in Garden City, NY. They met during a truth or dare game back in 2013, Sarah a sophomore, Matthew a junior, and have been together ever since. After years of long distance through college, they built a home together in Manhattan’s Financial District, where they now live with their dog, Napa.
Their proposal reflected both their history and their easy sense of adventure. For their ten-year anniversary, Matthew surprised Sarah with a trip to Napa Valley. On a family vineyard, surrounded by wine and golden light, he proposed, while a photographer disguised as a gardener documented the moment. It was intimate, calm, and perfectly them.
The Wedding Day
The October day began sunny, then settled into the kind of soft, cloudy light that photographers dream of. Sarah and her bridesmaids got ready in the main house at Stonewall Estate, the morning filled with laughter and yellow pajama sets. Later, the bridesmaids dressed in light yellow gowns that stood out beautifully against the warm autumn tones of this magical Catskills wedding venue. As evening cooled, they wrapped themselves in burgundy shawls, both stylish and practical.
One of the sweetest moments came early on with Sarah’s first look with her dad. There were tears and laughter, a moment that truly captured what family means to both of them. That connection carried throughout the day, especially when Sarah’s grandfather surprised everyone at the reception by taking the stage dressed as Elvis Presley. With her grandmother by his side, the two shared a kiss. After more than fifty years of marriage, their joy was contagious and felt like the perfect blessing for the newlyweds.
A Weekend to Remember

With family staying onsite, the weekend felt like a cozy escape, bonfires, good food, and relaxed conversations. By the time the reception began in the barn, guests were fully in celebration mode.
